Train-the-Trainer (Physical Interventions)

An intensive 5-day course enabling successful candidates to deliver our courses in Positive Behaviour Support and Physical Interventions including the RRN Approved, BILD-ACT/UKAS certified Level 2 and 3 courses under licence within their employing organisation.  Successful candidates become Associate Trainers and their employers Affiliate Organisations.

This is sometimes a preferred option for larger organisations or organisations that seek to develop local expertise.

Candidates should have at least 2 years working in a service where the management of challenging behaviours has been part of that experience, should possess or be working towards an adult eduction teaching qualification and hold a suitable first aid qualification (including emergency first aid, resuscitation and the use of an AED).

Being an Associate Trainer is potentially a demanding role.  Our course is designed to prepare the candidate as much as possible for fulfilling this role but our support does not end there.  We offer ongoing helpline support plus at least one annual site visit to observe training (providing feedback and guidance) and also to ensure that appropriate record keeping systems are in place.  This also provides an opportunity for an annual supervision from oursleves as accredited training provider and an opportunity for ongoing support.  We also see trainers annually for their refresher course.

Price (ex VAT & expenses): £1850

Ongoing fees/expenses:

Workbooks are required for each person completing one of our Level 1, 2 or 3 courses for the first time (excludes annual refreshers) - these are purchased from Sherwood Training at a fixed price of £5.00 each including P&P (VAT exempt).

Ongoing costs include the processing of course portfolios (we audit the portfolio generated for each course as a matter of quality assurance and issue certificates as PDF files to the organisation for each person successfully completing a course).  The fee for this is £20 + VAT per course.

There is also an annual license fee payable each year from the anniversary of completion of the 5-day course.  This currently stands at £995 + VAT per person pa.  This is payable from the anniversary of completion of the training as the first year's license is covered by the course fee.

Affiliate Organisations (the Asociate Trainer's employers) must also pay and Affilaite Organisation Registration Fee - this currently stands at £450 + VAT per organisation pa.  The fee is the same whether the Affiliate Organisation employs one or multiple Associate Trainers.
