Overview

We have a range of courses that can develop knowledge and understanding of best practice when supporting older adults with varying care needs. Whether these are mandatory training, health and safety courses or behaviour support training, we strive to meet the needs of your organisation. We offer consultations for individuals and services if required. Our team of highly experienced and competent trainers include registered nurses, registered managers, PBS practitioners and senior support workers.

Residential Homes

By incorporating your organisation’s values and vision, policies and procedures into our training, we equip you with the confidence to work within national legislation and guidance to support older adults who may display behaviours of concern in the least restrictive way that respects the individual and their human rights.

Dementia

With a focus on person-centred approaches and promoting dignified and respectful care, our training aims to develop understanding of dementia and how this condition impacts on behaviour and quality of life. Courses can focus on dementia awareness, managing behaviours of concern or a combination of both as we pride ourselves on designing training bespoke to your needs.

Day Services & Outreach

Promoting quality of life and meaningful engagement is at the heart of our courses, especially for individuals who support people with behaviours of concern. We aim is to equip staff with the confidence and knowledge to support people in a safe and effective way that meets all national legislation and guidance, promotes independence and values individuals.

Homecare Support & Domiciliary Care

Understanding the risks of lone working and the importance of high quality of care, our courses develop knowledge and understanding of best practice, national legislation and guidance. Designed to meet the health and safety requirements of employers, we offer training in line with regulations and best practice.

Popular Course in This Sector

We are able to offer training in First Aid, manual handling, dementia awareness and Positive Behaviour Support all of which have been adapted to be relevant to this sector. We also have members of our team who have extensive experience of delivering services within this sector.

Are the physical skills suitable for older adults?

Next

Yes. All our physical intervention techniques are risk assessed as suitable for different ages. Our training also includes details about individual risk factors, and we support your organisation to implement individual risk assessments based on least restrictive practice.  

Is your training suitable for this sector?

Next

Yes.  Two of our customers were amongst the first in the UK to adapt and use a PBS approach within older people services.  We have also been delivering our Physical Interventions training in this sector for over 10 years with consistently high feedback from those who attend.

How do you make the training specific to this sector?

Next

We regularly review our training and also use feedback from our Associate Trainers who deliver services and training within this sector.  In addition, we also have members of our team with extensive “hands-on” experience working supporting people with Dementia.
