Are your courses an equivalent of Team Teach and PMVA?
Yes. Team Teach is a behaviour management training organisation. Other organisations use acronyms such as Managing Actual or Potential Aggression (MAPA) or Preventing & Managing Violence and Aggression (PMVA) to describe behaviour management and physical intervention courses. We don’t use an acronym, but the theory and physical skills are an equivalent and equip staff with similar skills.
Do you have to have mandatory certified training?
Our RRN approved, Bild-ACT certified courses meet the highest national training standards for teaching physical interventions. They are not mandatory in all settings, and we can offer non-certified courses that meet the needs of sectors that require shorter courses or different content such as schools and residential children’s homes. We strive to always offer high quality training and will work with you to make sure that any course we deliver meets the needs of your organisation.
Do you have a train-the-trainer option for your courses?
Our Bild-ACT certified courses in understanding behaviour and physical interventions can be delivered in-house through our associate trainer development programme? Delivering the training in-house offers organisations flexibility and significant cost savings while retaining confidence that they are offering high quality training in understanding behaviour, de-escalation and physical interventions to keep people safe. Every associate trainer receives ongoing support from the point of application and throughout their affiliation to attain & maintain their certified trainer status under the RRN Training Standards.
Are the physical skills suitable for children & young people?
Yes. All our physical intervention techniques are risk assessed as suitable for different ages. Our training also includes details about individual risk factors, and we support your organisation to implement individual risk assessments based on least restrictive practice.
