Course Overview

This course is designed to meet Standard 1 & 2 of the current PBS competency Framework 2015 (version 2 in development).  It is CPD certified and has also been submitted for voluntary review under the PBS Peer Accreditation Scheme.  Its aim is to enable those attending to understand what PBS is, the three key elements and the 12 key components.  Those attending will learn what is required to forma a PBS plan from the beginning of the process through to monitoring and review.  It will also cover how to coach and support other staff in using the PBS plan within services.

The contents of the course has been based on the Behaviour Support Plan-Content Assessment Tool (BSP-CAT) which we were privileged to be a part of developing.  The course will focus on practical ways to approach developing a PBS from creating and writing a brief functional assessment through to monitoring and reviewing the efficacy of the support being provided.
