Emergency First Aid at Work

Course Overview

This Health & Safety Executive (HSE) compliant course will equip you with the knowledge of what to do in a first aid emergency. You will learn the roles and responsibilities of a first aider, contents of a first aid box and the importance of recording and reporting of accidents. You will know how to assess an incident keeping yourself and others safe plus learn how to manage a range of injuries and incidents including choking, bleeding and seizures. You will learn how to manage an unconscious casualty and demonstrate life-saving techniques including CPR and using a defibrillator. Designed to be fun and interactive with relaxed and non-threatening forms of assessment, you will leave this course confident in using first aid both professionally and personally.

We are able to offer a wide range of First Aid related training including Paediatric first aid, first aid at work, essential (basic) life support, first aid annual refresher and many more.

  • Resuscitation Hygiene and alternative options to Rescue Breaths

  • Child and Baby Basic Life Support
  • Emergency Plan & Basic Life Support Circuit Training (assessment)

  • Head, Neck & Back Injuries, Choking & Bleeding (assessment)
  • Preventing Cross Infection
  • Basic Shock & Fainting
  • Burns, Bones, Muscle and Joint Injuries

SESSION 4

  • Accident Reporting
  • Placing a casualty in the recovery position (assessment)
  • Fitting & Seizures
  • Theory Assessment

Does this course meet health and safety requirements?

Next

Yes. Employers have a legal duty to provide adequate first aid provision at work, including trainer first aiders if necessary. This course will equip you with the knowledge to understand the roles and responsibilities of a first aider and help to ensure employers are meeting their requirements under the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981.

Will I learn CPR and how to use a defibrillator?

Yes. As well as learning life-saving techniques, you will learn how to assess incidents and manage a casualty in a reassuring way while keeping yourself and others safe. You will know how to manage a range of injuries and how to report these.
