This course is delivered by a trainer with over 30 years’ experience supporting both adults and children with autism in a variety of settings. By learning what autism is, you will also explore some of the common misunderstandings and develop awareness of co-existing conditions. You will understand areas of difference and learn to recognise these in terms of strengths as well as challenges. You will be equipped with a broad range of knowledge relating to autism and how you can offer practical, proactive strategies to support autistic people effectively.

Can this course be delivered virtually?

Next

Yes. While we strongly believe that face to face training is most effective, this course is modular so can be delivered virtually in sections. Whether delivered in person or virtually, there is an expectation that participants will actively engage in activities, group work exercises and discussions. Please speak to us as we will strive to deliver the training in the way that best suits your organisation.

Is the training accredited?

Next

No. There is currently no mandatory accreditation requirement for autism training within the UK.  For quality assurance purposes, this course has been externally assessed and verified as CPD certified and cross referenced against the relevant national guidance relating to training in this subject.

Can anyone attend this training?

Next

Yes. We have in the past delivered this training to families, parent groups, volunteers, foster carers as well as support workers and education staff. We pride ourselves on tailoring the training to individual needs and settings so please get in touch so that we can plan the most effective course for you.

Will I receive a certificate for this training?

Next

Yes. Each person attending the training will receive a certificate of attendance briefly stating the completion date and learning outcomes for the course.  The certificate is valid for 3 years and is CPD certified.

Are there any handouts?

Next

Yes. Each delegate will receive a pen and a handout for the training.  Please let us know if you have a neurodivergent workforce or any specific learning needs as we are usually able to adapt either our resources or training style to suit the requirements of a variety of learners.
