An Introduction to Anti-social and Borderline Personality Disorder

This 1-day course is aimed at giving participants who support people with either an anti-social or borderline personality disorder insight into the diagnosis. 

 

 

Participants will begin to understand the link to between traumatic childhood experiences and adult presentations as well as using basic attachment theory to gain a more in-depth understanding of the people they support.  Finally, the course will examine and try and make sense of our own emotions when supporting people with personality disorder before looking at some basic ideas of how support can be more effective and containing.   The course is suitable for support workers and/or provider managers.

 

The course is delivered by Karl Teer, RNLD, BA (Hons) Social Care - an experienced nursing professional with a particular interest in Mental Health and Personality Disorder.

BILD ACT / RRN TRAINING STANDARDS:

We are working with BILD ACT (Association of Certified Training) towards certification of our training as complying with the Restraint Reduction Network (RRN) Training Standards (2019). Certification will be live by the start of October and will be a requirement from April 2020. We are on target to be one of the first organisations to gain certification by the 1st October.
