People with learning disabilities are just as likely (some evidence suggests more likely) to experience mental health problems as any other person. That's about 1 in 4 people!
This 1-day course introduces participants to the concepts of mental health and common mental health problems. It explores the possible causes and contributory factors and also focusses on support and treatment and the role of support staff.
It focuses specifically on the support needs of people with both mental health and learning disabilities helping staff to recognise the signs and symptoms, understand how to access appropriate
treatment services and how to promote good mental health for the people they support.
