Positive Behaviour Support and Physical Interventions Training

Our BILD accredited courses are available at 2 levels.  We also offer an train the trainer option.

 

The courses are suitable for a variety of service user groups and settings:

 

  • Learning Disabilities and Autism Services (adults and children)
  • Schools and Special Education Services
  • Services for Children with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD)
  • Dementia Care Services
  • Mental Health Services (adults and children)

Level 1 – Positive behaviour support + breakaway/self-protection skills

A 2-day course in challenging behaviour and physical interventions. This course covers positive behaviour support and breakaway/self-protection skills.

Price (ex VAT & expenses): £1200.00

 

NB The price is for delivering the course for up to 15 participants – the price per person being from as little as £80 + VAT per person + £5 each for workbooks

Level 2 – Positive behaviour support + breakaway/self-protection skills + restrictive physical interventions

A 3-day course in challenging behaviour and physical interventions. This course covers positive behaviour support, breakaway/self-protection skills and restrictive physical intervention skills.

Price (ex VAT & expenses): £1800.00

 

NB The price is for delivering the course for up to 15 participants – the price per person being from as little as £120 + VAT per person + £5 each for workbooks

In-House Trainer Development Programme

A 'train the trainer' course.

A 5-day course enabling successful candidates to deliver our BILD accredited courses under license within their employing organisation.  This is sometimes a preferred option for larger organisations or organisation that seek to develop local expertise.

Price (ex VAT): £1500 per person

 

NB We offer discounts for large organisations wishing to train 5 or more in-house trainers on one course.

Accreditation and Suitability

The training is accredited by the British Institute of Learning Disabilities as suitable for services for:

  • Adults with learning disabilities
  • Children and young people with learning disabilities
  • Children and young people with severe emotional and behaviour difficulties
  • Children and young people with special educational needs
  • Education
  • Forensic learning disabilities
  • Autism

 

Our training is delivered in accordance with the BILD Code of Practice 3rd Edition (2010). Accordingly, any organisation commissioning training will need to adhere to the guidelines within the Code of Practice. To find out more, please read our current policy:
